We have some exciting projects going on at Visiolink. Among other things we are digitizing 100 years of archives for the Danish newspapers Politiken and Ekstra Bladet which will make history available in an entire new way. In this newsletter you can read about an increasing number of newspapers that are publishing on iPhones. 

Visiolink has recruited Kenneth Boll as COO at Visiolink who will strengthen our sales organization and ensure stable growth in new markets.

New Technology Gives New Life to Newspaper Archives

The largest digitalisation project in Denmark has started and will give Danes acces to nearly two million newspaper pages from two of the countrys largest newspaper archives which goes back to 1884. The technology which has been developed by Visiolink is identical to what is being used on todays online newspapers and makes it possible to zoom, browse and search among all words in the text. It is now much easier to look back in the newspaper archives.

The Climate in Flash

 The focus has been set on the climate in a new exciting project on digital media where Visiolink has made E-pages available for a project established by the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, research center Digital Urban Living, University of Aarhus, Update and Alexandra Instituttet A/S. The focus of the project has been new on new types of online jounalism, multimedia tools and interaction technologies. The participants has been researching on different types of media like web, E-pages, Wiki’s and Video. Visiolink has support the use of E-pages in this project.

More Newspapers Publishing on iPhone
La Stampa 
A number of newspapers are in corporation with Visiolinks Dutch partner now publishing their newspaper on iPhones with great succes. The iPhone application, that also are available on iPod Touch, both shows the newspaper as it looks physically and gives the opportunity to dive into the articles.

New COO at Visiolink

Kenneth Boll joined Visiolink in December 2009 as the new COO.  Kenneth’s most recent accomplishment includes a position as President of a mid-sized media company with activities in Denmark, Sweden, Germany and France.

We have developed new exciting features for E-pages. 
Among other things you can remove shadows in the reader, the use of video has been improved and it is now possible to insert Flash across two pages in a publication.
